Pre-medical advising

Welcome!

The mission of the Eliot House Premedical Committee is to provide Eliot students and alumni with guidance and logistic support as they consider careers in medicine and navigate the medical school application process. We also support those interested in allied health professions, public health, and medical research. We provide one-on-one counseling, working in concert with the Harvard Office of Career Services (OCS). We also write House letters of recommendation on behalf of students, serve as liaisons with the medical schools, and contribute to university-wide policies. The committee consists of three residential tutors, the Allston Burr Resident Dean (ex officio), and a cadre of non-resident tutors ranging from medical students to attending physicians.

We're looking forward to meeting all of you interested in applying to medical school! Now is the time to start considering if you want to apply during the coming spring/summer application cycle. If you are a junior, senior, or alumnus who is thinking of applying, please feel free to send us an email at eliotpm@fas.harvard.edu to introduce yourself.

Eliot House Alumni and Alumnae

We're here to help. We provide the same level of service to current students and alumni, but be sure to start your application in a timely manner-- and to stick to the deadlines found on this website. If you wish to apply in 2009 (for 2010 enrollment), please note the Premed Questionnaire deadline of February 15, 2009 and email us to let us know of your plans.

Premed Introductory Presentation: Start here for essential information on how to apply to med school and how the Eliot Premed Committee can help.

Premed Questionnaire: This is your ticket to enroll as one of our advisees. Fill it out, save the filename as "lastname,firstname" and email it to us. The due date is February 15. No questionnaire means no advisor and no letter of support from Eliot House. If you do not receive a confirmation email within a few days of sending your questionnaire, please be sure to follow-up with an email to eliotpm@fas.harvard.edu to be certain we received it.
