Economics

Hey everyone! My name is Janani (she/her), and I’m currently a PhD student in the economics department. I grew up in the beautiful Bay Area before coming to Harvard (’24) where I studied Applied Math and Global Health & Health Policy and lived in Mather House. In college, I spent time across research and pre-professional activities, public service, and blogging/writing. I pursued more than one side quest (including a during-college gap year) before applying to grad school, and I’m very happy to talk more about PhD applications, careers in technology/outside academia, or applying to fellowships like the NSF.

In my free time, I like hiking or taking long walks, playing board games with my friends, and buying more snacks than I can carry from Trader Joe's. If any of this sounds exciting to you, or you have snack recommendations, please feel free to reach out. I’m very excited to join the Eliot community!
