Marianne Potvin

Hello Eliot!

I've been a Resident Tutor at Eliot for many years and have lived at 22-24 Prescott since 2022. Although technically Canadian, I spent my childhood between Lima, Bamako, Paris, Bangkok and Ottawa, and always love to connect with other internationally minded folks.

I’m one of the Fellowships tutors and my professional/academic focus revolves around mental health, international aid, fragility, and conflict. I'm currently finishing a Fellowship in Clinical Social Work and work as a therapist. In the past, I’ve worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross, the World Bank, the UN Refugee Agency, and various humanitarian NGOs in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Sahel, etc.

I have a Ph.D in urban planning and architecture, with a Secondary Field in Science Technology and Society Studies (Harvard GSAS ’19), and a Masters in Design Studies (GSD ’13).

Please don't hesitate to come say hi and reach out with any questions; as a friendly introvert, I can be found in the dining hall's quieter corners :)

FDDE!
